Pamela Ellsworth, MD - Brown University

After obtaining her MD degree in 1987, Pamela Ellsworth pursued residencies at the University of Illinois/Cook County Hospital, the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center before taking a fellowship in pediatric urology at the University of Florida, Gainesville's Nemours Children's Clinic. Prior to accepting a position at UMass in 2003, Dr. Ellsworth was a Clinical Urologist and Assistant Professor of Urology, Surgery, and Pediatrics at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, where her adult practice focused mainly on men's health issues. Dr. Ellsworth is currently an Associate Professor of Urology at Brown University, Providence, RI, and has authored numerous books and research papers. She has traveled worldwide as a lecturer, visiting instructor, and a volunteer physician. As a long-term student, Dr. Ellsworth values education--not only for the residents, medical students, and faculty she meets daily at her academic institution, but also for patients, who benefit from education that allows them to take a more active role in their medical decision-making.
