Clinicians involved with examinations of the eye, whether in the
acute, primary care or specialist setting will find Color Atlas of
Ophthalmology 2nd Edition quite useful. One might think
of this highly portable handbook as a miniature general ophthalmology
text rather than a typical atlas. There is a chapter included on ocular
pharmacology as well as several chapters focused on testing and common
surgical procedures.
The photographs and imaging figures are of the highest quality.
This would be expected of any atlas on the market. That being said, it
is important to mention that the authors don’t crowd each page with
illustrations at the expense of clear and concise textual explanation to
go along with them. This is where many atlases tend to lose points for
usefulness. Those seeking confirmation of a diagnostic finding are
often confronted by a rarely seen condition and benefit from a refresher
on etiology and treatment.
Small enough to fit in a labcoat pocket, comprehensive enough to
serve the needs of even an experienced specialist….. Color Atlas of
Ophthalmology 2nd Edition is a great resource.
