MedicalScienceBooks.com Medical Book Review: As a volume in the highly successful Requisites Series, Breast Imaging 2nd Edition, has a lofty standard to meet. The popularity of this series of radiology texts stems from the “straight to the point” philosophy that is sought after by those studying for board exams. This is exemplified in Breast Imaging 2nd Edition by the exclusion of detail on topics that aren’t heavily emphasized on exams such as issues related to image acquisition. Included in great measure however, are high quality images from a variety of modalities. This should go without saying for any radiology text, but unfortunately this is not always the case. Too often, radiological cases meant to be illustrative of certain key findings are sent to press in ambiguous form to say the least. Comparatively speaking, using several other similar publications on the diagnosis of breast pathology as reference, this text has distinctly better images than most currently on the market. The chosen size, magnification and contrast make the figures useful teaching tools. These are crucial variables while at the viewing station, as any professional diagnosing breast pathology is keenly aware, and also for the utility of a radiology text in this specialty. Breast Imaging 2nd Edition continues to provide outstanding preparation for training Radiologists and quick reference for more experienced clinicians.
